Stark Raving Mad (J/160)

The J/160 "Stark Raving Mad" was the first of the "Stark Raving Mad" series. She is hull #21 of J-Boat's J/160. She was built in E-Glass by TPI in Rhode Island. Two weeks after her launch in 2000, she took a 2nd in Class in the San Diego - Puerto Vallarta race, and two years later she took a First Overall in the 2002 race. She compiled an admirable race record including a First Overall in the 2001 Newport-Ensenada Race, and two First Overalls in the Santa Barbara - King Harbor Race (2000, 2001). She also placed 2nd in the 2000 Newport - Ensenada Race. She was sold in 2002, and her owner at the time kept her primarily in Hawaii. She was subsequently sold again when her Hawaii-based owner acquired J/65 hull #1. For more on the J/160, see the J-Boats web site.
