Jim has been actively racing the "Stark Raving Mad" ("SRM") series of boats since 2000. The boats have included a J160 (SRM I), a J145 (SRM II), a custom R/P 66 (SRM III), a J125 (SRM IV), a TP52 (SRM V), a Swan 42 (SRM VI), and a Swan 601 (SRM VII). Wins on SRM include Key West Race Week (2008, 2010), Newport to Cabo (2007, 2008, 2009), San Diego to Puerto Vallarta (2002), Yachting Cup, Ahmanson, New York Yacht Club Race Week, the Rolex Swan Cup (2013), and the Heineken Regatta (2014). Jim also raced and cruised a J65, "Brand New Day". Jim is a member of the New York Yacht Club, the San Diego Yacht Club, the Lauderdale Yacht Club, and the Newport Harbor Yacht Club as well as the International Maxi Association. Jim grew up sailing on a Blue Jay, Laser, C&C 30 and Ranger 33 in Oyster Bay, NY.
