2nd in class - losing only to an 88" schooner by less than one minute. 2nd overall / 2nd to finish out of 30+. Pursuit race from Long Beach to Newport Beach about 16 miles in length. We left some time on the race course and could have won with some minor clean-up: 1. needed more time pre-start to practice genoa trim and tacking 2. Need a kelp stick - caught some kelp on the run/reach to Newport Beach and took a long time to dislodge 3. Needed to know heading to Newport Beach from Long Beach breakwater. Overstood early for about 3-4 minute before setting the kite 4. Consider a larger A3 Still, a very fun day.
