2nd in PHRF A - hard fought battle with a much larger challenger the J/V 66' "Denali" - formerly "Numbers" (19' bigger, and much faster than us). Early racing was in very light, inconsistent winds. By day three (Sunday), we had a sea breeze of 10-16 knots. We were down by four points going into day three. In the first racer, we foreced "Denali" into a tough situation at the pin-end of the line at the start, and they caught the committee boat's anchor road. They were only able to get off with assistance from the committee boat (rule 41 violation?) otherwise they would have sppent a long time untangling. Thankfully, no injuries, no damage and all safe. Following that race, we were ahead by one point going into the last and final race. We had a good, clean start, but "Irie" forced us (and themselves) to the very wrong side of the course, allowing "Denali" and others to get ahead. The wind speeds had us planing downwind for the first time in the event, and we caught up quite bit, but not enough. "Denali" ended up with the wind in a tie breaker. A fun series.
